For our 3rd wedding anniversary and Fourth of July adventure, Johannes and I started the day but hitting up the local craft fair in Roseberry, ID. While looking for an overlook off of Warm Spring Road, we took an impromptu hike and enjoyed the vibrant wild flowers all the rain has brought. Upon our return to the Ashley Inn, we were greeted with the smells of fresh baked cookies in the lobby. So we took part in the hotel's well known 8:00 pm complimentary cookies at the front desk. For dinner we walked to Reo's Pizza and soaked in the last hour of sun before it dipped behind the mountains for the night. (and of course enjoyed the "interesting" crowds that surrounded us at the pizza joint.)

Since the town of Cascade was hosting their fireworks show on July 3rd we walked to the state park and got to enjoy the show over Cascade Lake.
On July 4th we headed over to the Gold Fork Hot Springs. Talk about some classy hot springs. They had two large pools and three smaller ones. If you are ever in the Donnelly area this is worth the drive. It is costly and there are rules but it's a great way to relax and take in nature at the same time.
