This year we purchased a $5.00 tree permit from the Forest Service and hunted down our own Christmas tree in the forest. We had a lot of fun tromping through the snow looking for the "perfect tree" which we did find 3 hours later. The experience was great and we look forward to doing it again minus the gun shots from illegal hunters of course.
