Weekend Get Away in Boise

Johannes and I spent our weekend in Boise, Idaho to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and stayed at our favorite hotel the Hyatt. After our long and very hot drive down on Friday we enjoyed a nice evening walk to REI, World Market, and Target. And since the rain held off we were able to eat outside at the Cheese Cake Factory.

Saturday we hit downtown for the Farmers Market and enjoyed some fresh cherries. In order to cool off a little from the blazing sun we picked up some iced drinks from the Flying M coffee shop and hung out at the park next the capitol building. Since we needed the tires on the car rotated we stopped by Sears and hung out at the air conditioned mall for a while. (which sounds boring but felt really good and gave us an excuse to hang out at Borders and Books) Our evening was completed with dinner at Olive Garden and fireworks from the hillside over looking the whole Magic Valley.

Our last adventure in Boise was going to the art museum on Sunday. They had an exhibit from Devorah Sperber, which was awesome. I highly recommend checking out her website: http://www.devorahsperber.com/

The drive home was beautiful and full of diverse landscapes and ended with a rain storm that helped lower the temperature.

Now that it's Monday, life is back to normal. Johannes is packed and heading back down to McCall for the next 10 days. And I am back to work.

Katie - sorry this is a little late, but Happy Anniversary! I was thinking of you and finally got around to getting out to your blog to catch up. Your anniversary date sounds like a great time. Blessings!
